Road Show Update

The second leg of our Road Tour is well underway now, and the SEA Pledge team is having a great time and making some wonderful new friends. We first visited Plettenberg Bay where Dr Tony Ribbink and Mayor Memory Booysen put the town on the map and entertained the local Nippers and Micro-Nippers at the Plett Surf Lifesaving Club.

We then made our way to Knysna for a talk at the Golf Club. Councillor Esme Edge put Knysna on the map and was kind enough to do a radio interview with us afterward at Knysna FM. We took the chance to visit the Knysna Honda Marine dealership to show them our hybrid cars. Just before leaving Knysna we also had a quick photoshoot at the lookout – the “highest” point reached on our tour.

Next on our trip was Hermanus. We were lucky enough to be hosted by Mayor Nicolette Botha-Guthrie who gladly put her town on the map and made a Pledge on behalf of the Overstrand Municipality. Our friends at the South African Shark Conservancy were on hand at our Hermanus event to promote their SEA Pledge Port. After our event, the team even saw some Right Whales!

Cape Town is our current location. We have had two successful events here, one was hosted by our sponsor SAMSA and another by the Royal Cape Yacht Club. We are busy planning for future events, so please check our calendar to see where we will be, and don’t forget to “like” us on Facebook and “follow” us on Twitter!
