The SEA Pledge team has reached the northern-most and deepest part of their coastal road show; Sodwana Bay!
While travelling along coastal South Africa to launch SEA Pledge and spread the word about COP 17, the SEA Pledge team was lucky enough to dive with the team of Adventure Mania along the beautiful Two Mile Reef, part of a World Heritage Site. The diversity of Sodwana’s rich marine life served as a reminder of why SEA Pledge is so important and why the rest of South Africa needs to join together on December 3rd to tell the world why our coasts and oceans are so valuable to us.
This afternoon at 15h00, Dr. AJ Ribbink and the team presented to the local people and businesses of Sodwana at the Sodwana Bay Lodge Conference centre. Divers, surfers, sailors and more were encouraged to make December 3rd a day devoted to the things they love most; enjoying South Africa’s oceans while helping others develop a love and respect for the marine environment.
From Sodwana Bay the SEA Pledge team will be heading back to Durban for an event at 19h00 on Wednesday, 26 October at the Durban Undersea Club. This will be the last stop in KwaZulu-Natal before moving on in the Honda hybrids to the Garden Route and Western Cape. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to find out more details about the tour.
