The Sustainable Seas Trust is pleased to acknowledge START (global change SysTem for Analysis, Research and Training ) for providing key financial support to the programme: “The Impact of Climate Change on food Security among Coastal Communities of Keiskamma, in the Eastern Cape, South Africa”. Dr Skip Kaufman, the project coordinator within theInternational START Secretariat has gone well out of his way to provide personal guidance and positive encouragement throughout the programme.
This START programme was the first multidisciplinary field project of SEACC. The programme is driven and coordinated by SST and includes other SEACC consortium members: Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), Rhodes University (RU), University of Fort Hare (UFH) as well as the Keiskamma Trust.
As the START programme draws to an end the team is now focusing on developing the report as a series of chapters in a well-illustrated book. This site is being redeveloped to incorporate the products of the programme and will be fully operational with new information, videos, pictures and reports again very soon.
